About Coffee Queen (PC):

Story:

"There was once a grand castle and a lively town surrounded by protective walls in the middle of a vast grass plains. This joyous place, was called the Drink Kingdom. 

In the Drink Kingdom, all Drinks lived in harmony under the rule of the Coffee Queen.

However, one day, the Empire of Food, led by the King of Food, invaded the kingdom. Under the ceaseless and harsh attacks of the King of Food's army, drinks of the Drink Kingdom were knocked down and spilled, one by one.

The Coffee Queen fought with all of her strength for days, but could only watch desperately as her kingdom slowly began to crumble. The Drink Castle was seized, and the Coffee Queen narrowly escaped to the grass plains.

The invaders had taken over, and the kingdom was lost. Coffee Queen was heavily injured, and thus retreated to a small hut near the kingdom's border to recuperate. There, she established a base to train the familiar little cup by her side into a Cup Knight, who will help her fight until she recovers.

Cup Knight swears to fight for his Coffee Queen and for the Drink Kingdom. Together, they will reclaim their land and overthrow the King of Food."

Features:

Farm: 

Gather seeds you find along the way and plant them in the farm to gain plants that can be made into drinks to temporarily boost your knight's stats. Don't forget to harvest your crops before closing the game, they will wither away if you don't!

Cup Smith:

The shop of the game, where you can unlock permanent upgrades such as increased stats, unlockable features, new playable character and pets (cosmetics).

Fight:

In the fight menu, you are crafting your cup knight. In the Add Drinks tab, you can choose what to add to your cup to temporarily improve its stats. Collect more sugar cubes and farm more plants to progress further!

GO! :

Setting out on the journey, you'll be making your way towards the Castle Gate, but enemies stand in your way. Traverse through the plains, collect items, meet the shop keeper Birds, fight minibosses, choose your Choice items carefully and carry onward!

Randomised platforms:

Most of the levels are randomised with handmade sections to make each run unique!

Chests:

Chests give random items where players get to choose whether or not to pick them up and form strategies/builds.

Items:

There are Potions that change your stats, Shop Items that give players unique choices at a cost, Choice Items that the player can choose between after beating each boss and Seeds which drop from bushes and can be used in the farm. Most importantly, Sugar Cubes that drop from killing enemies or breaking the Gelatin.

Dying:

Dying is part of the process. You'll keep the sugar cubes you got on the way, and be able to spend it in the Cup Smith or Cup Crafting menu.

About Us:

Team Dehydrated is mainly made up of 3 artists and 1 programmer. This group was formed for a class module (Mobile Game Development (MGD)), where we were tasked to make a 2D Mobile Game., which is now ported to PC.

Inspiration:

"Hi this is Sam. Behind the inspiration of this game is half my desire to help my mother and her business, and half my dream of becoming a game developer and making good games. Coffee Queen is actually the name of my mother's drink store branch, and so this game is a tribute to my mother for supporting and bringing me up. I'm grateful to my team for readily accepting my pitch on the game and the roles I put them in. Starting out, I knew this game would be a 9/10 in difficulty to create and I conveyed that to my teammates, but they were enthusiastic and trust that I could lead them to the end goal. We had numerous hurdles to overcome in the 15~ weeks time limit, with this being our first game and first time working in a game studio, but I think we did a great job and produced something we can be proud of (my mother's also proud of it). Thank you to everyone for playing this game!"
